Today you can adopt a square foot of the Great Bear Rainforest and be entitled to lifetime stewardship to the largest and most bio-diverse remaining intact temperate rainforests tracts left on earth.
One of Guarding the Gifts most important commitments is to care for the earth. We believe development must be sustainable — that projects should be long-term investments in the future of people and the planet. That’s why in addition to our conservation efforts, Guarding the Gifts provides a unique opportunity for individuals, families and groups to become stewards of the Great Bear Rainforest and be forever connected of one of the largest remaining temperate rainforests left on the planet.
After over a decade of exceptionally hard work, an unprecedented and historical alliance among First Nation, government, coastal communities, environmental groups, industry and philanthropic organizations crafted a new model of conservation. This will both preserve the ecosystem and help develop a sustainable economic base to support the people within the region. This project is a model for the world of what conservation must become in the 21st century – an inherent part of economics, environments, and cultures.

Why Should You Adopt?
From Vancouver Island to the Alaskan border, the Great Bear Rainforest stretches more than 250 miles and encompasses 21 million acres, the largest coastal temperate rain forest left on our planet. Nearly 60 percent of the world’s coastal temperate rainforests have been logged off and the Great Bear represents one-quarter of all that still remains.
Our stewardship program is a unique opportunity for individuals, families and groups to become actively involved and forever connected with the Great Bear Rainforest. You are invited to join an unprecedented historical alliance among First Nations, government, coastal communities, environmental groups, industry and philanthropic organizations to craft a new model of global conservation. Your support of this project helps create a blueprint for the world, a vision of what true conservation must become in the 21st century, combining economics, environments, and cultures in a way that really works.
Putting a value on the history and culture of this unique world is impossible, but you can adopt your own personal piece of paradise for only a modest sum or make a deed to the forest a rare gift to family, friends or business associates. You will be surprised to discover the cost of this amazing complete package is $1,000 CAD. You can even adopt a large portion of the Great Bear Rainforest (100 square feet) for an incredible value of $50,000.00 CAD. For your active support of this project, you will receive
